My Philosophy

Educators are the backbone of society, the fiber on which a society is built and is laid by the knowledge its people receive.  With this I know that all children are capable of learning.  I realize that one of the most important characteristics to have as an educator is a love for children.  One must have a nurturing quality, and this has been evident in all aspects of my life.  During my many years of working with students in different capacities, I can relate to their experiences and have been able to assist them in achieving their goals.

As educators, we understand that there isn’t just one approach to teaching.  We must educate the whole child both academically and emotionally.  We must use various methods to reach the visual learners, the auditory learners and the kinesthetic learners. With my experience, I find that I can be a strong disciplinarian, while implementing fun ways of teaching, which is evident in the results I achieve.

I believe that working to improve the academic, social and emotional well-being of each student is important to improve the whole child; a holistic approach which involves the parents/guardians. It helps each child prepare for the next step of their educational journey and to cope with the transition.

Considering the climate we now live in, post COVID, there are also immense challenges for us to focus on a child’s social and emotional well-being. Getting them acclimated with the whole school process is now a part of their journey and one that I am excited about navigating with them.
